The GYS Expo is coming to Hartland International School on Friday 17 September, with some of the brightest minds in the world of youth sport gathering under one roof in Dubai for the first time.
The event aims to bring together PE teachers, sports coaches, industry professionals, athletes, parents and families to explore some key issues in youth sport – paving the way for a positive route forward as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic.
With thought-leader presentations, panel discussions, an interactive exhibition zone and the Gulf Youth Sport Awards, the day is set to showcase the very best of sport in the UAE while encouraging collaboration and best practice to be shared across the sector.
By bringing the sports industry together, the GYS Expo hopes to identify strategies to:
- Emerge from Covid-19 stronger than before
- Increase youth participation in sport and exercise
- Improve the health of the nation
- Pave the way for the UAE residents to make an impact on the global stage
The Gulf Youth Sport Awards aims to shine a light on the achievements of the people that make sport what it is in the region, with categories ranging from Athlete of the Year to Award for Outstanding Display of Courage and/or Resilience.
Andrew Cook, Gulf Youth Sport CEO, said: “We are delighted to partner with Dubai Sports Council to bring the inaugural Gulf Youth Sport Expo to life after what has been an extremely challenging 18 months for everyone associated with youth sport in the UAE.
“So many of the UAE’s PE teachers and coaches have competed and/or coached at the very highest level in their chosen sport, so their knowledge and experience is invaluable to their fellow practitioners. Sharing this knowledge with others in the community can only help the youth sports industry go from strength to strength.”
