Top Tip Tuesday – The Miracle Plant

Top Tip Tuesday

Most commonly known for soothing sun burns, aloe vera is an increasingly popular medicinal plant that dates back thousands of years. The leaves of the plant contain a gooey transparent gel which is made up of around 96% water and amazingly has more than 75 active components including vitamins (A,B,C,E), minerals, amino acids, enzymes, and more. Incredibly, it provides 20 of the 22 human-required amino acids.

“One of the most crucial elements found in aloe vera gel is a complex carbohydrate known as acemannan. It allows nutrients to reach the cells, nourish them and at the same time relieve them of toxins” (food.ntv.com)

The plant also contains something called proteolytic enzymes which repairs dead skin cells on the scalp, which can help treat hair fall. Although it's best known for treating skin injuries, aloe vera also has other highly beneficial effects on health as well as unbelievable healing properties.
