du La Liga HPC set to Take on Spain’s Top Clubs

A group of the UAE’s top footballers have set out on a journey to visit five of Spain’s professional clubs during a 21-day training camp with the du La Liga High Performance Centre this week.

The squad – which comprises of 36 players from across the UAE – have been chosen to be part of the programme after a rigorous selection process and will be given the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of a number of La Liga coaches and scouts during the trip.

The Spanish tour includes an intensive program for the U16 and U18 teams, with two training sessions a day and a series of matches against some of the country’s biggest clubs, including Sevilla, Granada and Malaga.

Abdulwahed Juma, Executive Vice President of Brand and Corporate Communications, du, is excited to follow the progress of the group whilst in Spain.

“The du La Liga High Performance Centre was developed to give footballers across the UAE a clear pathway of development to professional football careers as they get discovered through the duFC platform,” he said. 

“We congratulate the players who have made it thus far and look forward to their progress in the coming weeks.”

The du La Liga squads kick off the camp with matches against Cadiz tomorrow (4th August). It will be the first time many of the players have faced Spanish opposition in Spain and promises to be a great opportunity for the du La Liga HPC to test themselves against academy-standard teams.

Hussein Murad, CEO of Inspiratus who are the organizers of duFC, commented on the initiative saying, “The du La Liga HPC is a unique platform, enabling youth football talent from across the UAE to play at pro-levels and hone their skills during a gruelling year-long training program under the watchful eye of top La Liga coaches.”
