FOOTBALL: Trans World Dubai School Football U10s Finals

It was day three of the Trans World Dubai Schools Football Finals this afternoon as the city’s u10’s teams came to play on another beautiful day at Rashid School for Boys.

Over 25 teams battled over eight pitches for the right to walk away with a medal. On pitch one the regular season league winners were vying for the title of champions, the five schools were GEMS Wellington Silicon Oasis, Kings Al Barsha, Horizon International School, Nord Anglia and Emirates International School Meadows.

The day was filled with great football and wonderful team spirit and sportsmanship as the city’s schools competed in four mini-leagues across the eight fields.

On pitches seven and eight it was GEMS First Point School who were the winners after tough matches against Victory Heights, Raffles World Academy and Safa Community School.

After wins against Foremarke and Greenfield and a defeat to Uptown, Dubai British School were the winners of the third -place league on pitches five and six.

On pitches three and four, Dubai International Academy were undefeated. An opening draw with hosts Rashid School for Boys was followed by an impressive 6-1 win over GEMS Wellington Primary School and a 3-0 victory over Swiss.

In the first-place league on pitches one and two were undefeated without conceding a single goal. A win over Horizon International School was the perfect start for Silicon Oasis who were the winners of the DASSA Sevens competition recently.

Victories against Kings Al Barsha and EIS Meadows followed and a tight 0-0 draw with Nord Anglia in their final game meant that Wellington Silicon Oasis were crowned champions of the day.

Even more impressively two of the team’s players, Omer and Hassan, shared the Most Valuable Player accolade at the presentation ceremony which followed the conclusion of the matches.

A huge well done to all the teams who took part from everyone at Gulf Youth Sport!
