JESS Reclaims Glory: Dubai Powerhouse Crowned National Champions at Rosslyn Park
Last month, JESS Dubai made a statement of intent on the global stage, sending a massive contingent of six teams and 76 players to the UK to compete in the Rosslyn Park National Schools 7s—the largest and most prestigious school rugby tournament on the planet.
The highlight of the tour came from the Under-16 Girls squad. After a grueling series of pool games and high-stakes knockouts, the team reached the final to face off against Redborne Upper School. In a display of clinical finishing and defensive grit, JESS secured a 27-12 victory, officially reclaiming their status as National Champions. This victory adds another chapter to the school’s storied history in the UK, following their historic 2024 breakthrough at Rosslyn Park with the U14 girls, a number of whom remain involved now.
Setting the Global Pace
Led by standout performances from the likes of Grace White and Captain Charlotte Battiston, the team proved that Dubai-based talent isn’t just competing on the world stage—it’s setting the pace.
JESS are regular international attendees at Rosslyn Park, once again showcasing their capacities against high end opposition.
The Blueprint for Success
Beyond the results, success at Rosslyn Park reflects the exceptionally high standard of youth sport across Dubai. This standard of excellence is consistent across the DASSA landscape; just as JESS dominates on the rugby pitch, schools like Repton Al Barsha have recently claimed top honors in the pool. Week in, week out, thousands of students participate in competitive sport, benefiting from world-class coaching and a shared commitment to development.
Central to this success are the dedicated teachers, coaches, and support staff across the DASSA network. Their professionalism ensures sport remains aspirational and high-quality. This thriving landscape, supported by elite kit partners like J20 Sports, continues to prepare Dubai‑based teams to lead the way globally.
