A group of Dubai swimmers have toppled national age group records at the Swim England Winter Short Course Championships in Sheffield, United Kingdom.
18 young swimmers from Hamilton Aquatics travelled to Sheffield for the championships which were held Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th December 2021. It was the first team trip since the pandemic and despite strict safety measures and protocols, the meet was a big success for the squad.
The team achieved numerous Junior or Open finals respectively and a high PB rate. Molly Mayne and Oscar Bilbao both came back with multiple medals and tested themselves against tough opposition. To add to this, a number of Hamilton Aquatics swimmers achieved national records for their respective home nations – ensuring the beneficial trip was rewarded with some excellent swims.
Head coach Stu Sant was delighted with the performances from his hugely talented squad and he hopes the time spent in Sheffield will encourage the swimmers to work hard into the new year.
He said: “The trip was a fantastic opportunity for us to travel as a team and race some of the best swimmers in Great Britain. The meet was great experience and I am sure that the swimmers are going to return very motivated and ready for 2022.”
