We chatted to Elite Sports Football Technical Manager Conor Doyle about what he is looking forward to about the tournament.
- Can you explain how you are feeling to be involved as technical partner for the event and who from your academy will play a big part in the day?
We are extremely excited to be joining such a fantastic event. To be joining as technical partners is a great signal of our intent to provide the best opportunities to children across our academy. A number of our fantastic coaching team will play a key role in the event. From our head coaches to our Technical Manager, the event will provide an excellent experience for both our coaching staff and players.
- What will the sides’ preparation be like in the lead up to the tournament?
With Elite teams entering each age group, preparations are underway to ensure the players are fully prepared to perform to the best of their ability come opening match of the competition. We are thrilled to offer our players this fantastic opportunity to compete in such an event as the GYS Spring Cup.
- What do you think your teams will learn and achieve from participating?
The event will provide another fantastic playing experience to all our children participating. To have such a competitive event on our doorstep, goes to show the vast amount of talent that is here in the UAE.
- How great is it to have the return to competition in recent months, and now have a tournament so academies can showcase their skills?
It really is fantastic. It has been a difficult period for everyone in all industries, but to be able to firstly return safely to training and now to competitive fixtures goes to show the great job sports academies are doing as well as the Dubai Sports Council and governing bodies.
