Dubai International Academy yesterday hosted two-time world boxing champion Badou Jack and undefeated World kickboxing champion Amer Abdallah, who addressed over 800 enthusiastic students and staff.
Badou Jack is Mayweather Promotions’ longest reigning champion and has won both the WBC Super Middleweight and WBA Light Heavyweight championships. Amer Abdallah is an Intercontinental and United States champion in kickboxing.
In line with the Dubai 30X30 Fitness Challenge recently launched by Sheikh Hamdan, the Crown Prince of Dubai, the athletes spoke to the students about the value of sport, and the importance of ‘moral education’ while emphasizing the importance of self-motivation, respect toward others, and themselves. The objective of the talk was to inspire and encourage students and staff to lead more active and healthier lifestyles.
When asked about the toughest opponent Badou Jack has had to face in his lifetime, he said, “It undoubtedly has to be myself as often times, the only person standing in your way is yourself. Self-motivation is the most critical factor in achieving success.” Amer Abdallah reassured the students of their own uniqueness by saying, “It is about believing that every one of you has something special. Your job is to find that and implement it in your life.”
Mihail Kouzev, Director of Sports and Activities at Innoventures Education said: “We are delighted to have world champions like Badou Jack and Amer Abdallah speak to our students about the values of sport, their wonderful experiences, and teach them valuable life lessons that will help inspire them to believe in themselves and follow their dreams.”
