FOOTBALL: Repton Junior Tournament

Under 8's and Under 9's teams from across the region descended on the stunning grounds of Repton School Dubai for a feast of football last Thursday.

32 teams from 16 schools, including 14 girls teams, battled it out in the midday sun for three hours of thrilling soccer.

The competition itself could not have been closer – in the U8 boys division, Al Safa British School emerged victorious after penalty shoot-out wins in the Quarters, Semis and in the Final itself, against Horizon School. In the U9 girls division a talented Foremarke side snuck past Repton in a close encounter, 1-0 the score.

Repton PE Teacher, Ali Wells, who was in charge of organising the event, was delighted with how it went: "It's been a great day for players, parents and coaches alike. It's amazing to see everyone out here giving it their all, and best of all are the levels of sportsmanship from all teams – we couldn't be happier with how the day's gone.''
