From the Podium to the Pixel: 15-Year-Old Repton Dubai Student Launches Pioneering AI Gymnastics App and Global Tournament
The intersection of elite youth sport and cutting-edge artificial intelligence has a new pioneer, and she is operating straight out of a Dubai classroom.
Viktoria Leusheva, a 15-year-old Year 11 student at Repton Dubai, has officially launched the latest, globally available iteration of her groundbreaking application, ‘Vika’—a pioneering AI-assisted rhythmic gymnastics judging platform designed to bring absolute transparency and objective data analysis to the sport.
Alongside the massive global app upgrade, Viktoria has also launched the Vika DubAI Open 2026. This digital-first, international online rhythmic gymnastics tournament allows athletes from every corner of the globe to compete, benchmark their technical skills, and get evaluated by elite judges.
Solving a Global Sporting Problem at Age 13
The inspiration behind the Vika app stems directly from Viktoria’s own elite sporting pedigree. Having trained in rhythmic gymnastics for nine years, she is no stranger to the podium, holding major titles including gold at the UAE International Gymnastika Cup 2023 and the GCC Grand Series Championship 2022.
Driven by her own experiences with the notorious subjectivity and complexity of gymnastics scoring, Viktoria began building the architecture for the app when she was just 13 years old. Her goal? To demystify the judging panel and give athletes a clear, data-driven roadmap to improve.
“I sincerely hope that my application will help athletes realize their potential and enable national team coaches from different countries to notice the brightest talents,” says Viktoria. “It is very important to me that the application is being developed in one of the world’s key centers of artificial intelligence—Dubai.”
How the ‘Vika’ Ecosystem Works
The app seamlessly blends human expertise with machine learning, allowing gymnasts to upload their routines for professional evaluation by certified Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) brevet judges.
Simultaneously, the platform’s custom AI tools instantly interpret complex scoring data, visualize crucial performance insights, and track an athlete’s structural progress over time.
The global gymnastics community has responded in droves. The platform already boasts more than 3,000 active users spanning powerhouse sporting nations including the United States, Brazil, China, Japan, and the Middle East.
The Next Frontier: Partnering with MBZUAI
Viktoria’s vision isn’t stopping with standard data tracking. Backed by the academic framework at Repton Dubai, she has entered initial discussions with the prestigious Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI).
The goal for her upcoming Year 12 project is to scale the app’s automated computer-vision capabilities, allowing the AI to analyze raw video files autonomously for instant biomechanical feedback and injury prevention metrics.
“Viktoria’s project reflects the creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking we encourage,” says Saiqah Amin, Head of Computer Science at Repton Dubai. “Her ability to combine competitive sporting experience with emerging technologies to solve real challenges within gymnastics is an outstanding achievement, particularly at such a young age.”
