The inaugural Gulf Youth Sport Expo is set to take place at the state-of-the-art Hartland International School, Dubai on Friday 17 September 2021, bringing together all corners of the youth sports industry for a day of presentations, activities and development.
The in-person event will give PE Teachers, Youth Sports Professionals, Athletes, and Industry Experts the opportunity to shape the future of youth sport here in the UAE, and will enable knowledge sharing, collaboration, discussion/debate, and networking.
In an exciting advancement for the world of youth sports in the UAE, the GYS Expo will be the first of its kind to allow the best minds in sport to share their knowledge and expertise with junior athletes, coaches and industry professionals in a bid to enhance the sporting experience and achievements in the region.
By bringing the brightest minds in the industry together, the GYS Expo hopes to identify strategies to:
• Emerge from Covid-19 stronger than before
• Increase youth participation in sport and exercise
• Improve the health of the nation
• Pave the way for the UAE residents to make an impact on the global stage
In addition to thought-leader presentations, the event will feature sport-specific discussion panels, industry presentations/demonstrations, an interactive exhibition zone, and the Gulf Youth Sport Awards.
The Gulf Youth Sport Awards aims to shine a light on the achievements of the people that make sport what it is in the region, with categories ranging from Athlete of the Year to Award for Outstanding Display of Courage and/or Resilience.
Andrew Cook, Gulf Youth Sport CEO, said: “We are delighted to partner with Dubai Sports Council to bring the inaugural Gulf Youth Sport Expo to life after what has been an extremely challenging 18 months for everyone associated with youth sport in the UAE.
“So many of the UAE’s PE teachers and Coaches have competed and/or coached at the very highest level in their chosen sport, so their knowledge and experience is invaluable to their fellow practitioners. Sharing this knowledge with others in the community can only help the youth sports industry go from strength to strength.”
Cook added: “We’ll also have a number of companies exhibiting at the Expo, sharing information on how their products and services can help take sporting performance to the next level.
“Furthermore, for aspiring athletes the Expo provides an unmissable opportunity to get the inside track on the keys to success, as well as the pathways on offer to continue their pursuit of a career in sport.”
