A cast from around the world and just two MVP awards to give out for hundreds of swimmers.
Yet both of those silver plates were handed out to GEMS Metropole students after the conclusion of the U13 World School Games.
Schoolmates Belal Isaac and Loujine Aboushady received the boys’ MVP and girls’ MVP awards respectively having not only caught the eye of organisers and spectators alike, but backed up these eye catching swims with exquisitely quick times.
Isaac won the 50m breaststroke by clocking 37.26 in the final and another gold came in the 50m butterfly with a time of 32.71.
Aboushady also took out the 50m butterfly by racing a swift 34.13 and a silver came in the 50m freestyle when she was just 0.04 seconds behind another GEMS Metropole swimming star in Trinity Magamura.
