The U15 DASSA Select players are in Hong Kong this week for a unique five-day, multisport tour on foreign soil.
Five squads were selected from schools across Dubai, with boys and girls basketball, boys and girls football, and girls volleyball teams all taking part in the hugely-exciting event.
The tour marks the first ever overseas for a DASSA Select squad, with an action–packed itinerary set to include training sessions, challenge matches against local schools, and cultural elements.
Looking ahead to the next few days of action, Andrew Cook, Middle East Director of Trans World Educational Experiences (Twedex), said:
“We are so excited to be in Hong Kong with the DASSA Select U15 squads this week. As the first ever tour group representing DASSA overseas it’s a privilege to be with the young athletes – they’ve got a packed schedule ahead with plenty of training sessions, fixtures and cultural activities.
“We hope the experience will inspire the students to continue the excellent work they’ve been doing at their own schools, and act as a motivation for the wider school sports community in Dubai to show them what is possible.
“To have the chance to represent Dubai and DASSA in a place like Hong Kong is a brilliant opportunity for the young people and we are proud to be supporting them this week.”
The first day of the tour will see the teams travel to Hong Kong before checking in to their accommodation and setting off to explore their iconic host city.
The action will then get underway from day two as the young athletes take part in sport-specific training sessions and get the opportunity to challenge themselves against local opposition over the following days.
The historic tour will then draw to a close on Friday 6th December as the squads make their way back to Dubai with memories to last a lifetime.
