18 holes could not separate Victor and Rami from FPS in the DASSA Golf Final on Monday 18th March at Arabian Ranches Golf Club. Both boys carded a very impressive 68 (-4) gross in some tricky conditions with the heat and wind.
One extra hole was all that was required as Victor sealed the win on the first playoff hole. In third place was Murray Craig at -3 (also FPS) and a number of other students carded under par scores.
In the Nett division, Samarbir from DIA EH was victorious with 40 stableford points. One back was Sophia from JESS on 39 and rounding off the top three was George from WSO on 37 points.
DASSA Golf had 87 different players competing throughout the season which is our highest number to date. Eligibility requires students to be off a handicap of 18 or below so there are some very talented golfers in our Dubai Schools.
Speaking after the event, DASSA’s Head of Golf and Head of PE at DIA Emirates Hills, Ross Grant said:
“I would just like to place on record of behalf of DASSA and school sport to Arabian Ranches, specifically Ryan for his coordination with all the venues and Ian for organising all the students and collating the results.
“On the three occasions we have been at the Ranches this term the hospitality and experience has been great for the students. We look forward to making it bigger and better next year.”
Everyone at Gulf Youth Sport would like to congratulate Victor Larsson (GEMS First Point) – DASSA Champion Golfer 2024 and Samarbir Kochar (DIA Emirates Hills) – DASSA Nett Champion Golfer 2024!
