The beginning of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships doesn’t just bring an opportunity to watch some of the best players in the world. For aspiring stars, like those at CF Tennis Academy, they are a granted chance to be ball kids to their heroes.
CF Tennis Academy Head of Marketing Gabbie Marriott said the excitement was bursting from the players chosen for the important job.
“We have a super team of ball kids this year from many different tennis and sports academies who have all worked very hard to prepare for DDFTC this year. Obviously we have more protocols and guidelines than ever before but it’s for the safety of everyone, so we’re happy to abide by them,” she said.
“There are so many things to look forward to but it’s always wonderful to see our ball kids working as a team on court and how proud they all are after matches, especially if it’s their first year as a ball kid or first time on stadium court.”
Roger Federer, Dominic Tiem, Elina Svitolina and Jennifer Brady are some of the headline acts young players are eager to watch up close.
“It’s absolutely fantastic, this year the DDFTC has an incredible line up for both ATP and WTA competitions. Without a doubt lots of our players will feel inspired watching matches in the city they live in and on the courts they practice on,” Marriott said.
At GYS, we look forward to chatting to the ball kids during the tournament to find out about their experience. Stay tuned!
