This week’s Wonderkid Wednesday is Team Ireland Swimmer Molly Mayne.
Molly won Two Bronze Medals and recorded PB times for both 100m Breaststroke (1:09.5) and 200m Breaststroke (2:30.0) at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Baku.
Molly’s performances also saw her win the Swim Ireland’s “Performance Pathway Athlete of the Year” Award.
The 13 year old is part of the Hamilton Aquatics Elite Squad and trains 8 times a week while balancing her studies at Kings’ School Al Barsha.
Director of Swimming, Ash Morris believes she has the potential to be a huge success: ” Molly has done everybody, but most importantly herself, proud – she has worked so hard and stepped up on the first stage of the international ladder. In my opinion, Molly has all the attributes and characteristics to achieve some very special things at the highest level in the next few years”
Congratulations and well done!
