FOOTBALL: du LaLiga Stay Top as E-Sports Rise to Second

The most anticipated match of the week was between league leaders, du LaLiga HPC and the reinforced Al Jazira Club team. In the first half, a solid strike in to the bottom corner from Rashed Ahmad put the HPC squad in the lead on the 16th minute.

As the first half was coming to a close, Al Jazira’s Saeid Al Maamri brought things back to 1-1 with a diving header into the back of the net from a corner on the 29th minute. However, it was Mohannad Wahdan from du LaLiga HPC who sealed the match at 2-1 after heading home from a beautiful corner kick by Mohammed Rajeh.

TFA met E-Sports with both teams striving to climb up the league table.  E-Sports opened the scoring on 6 minutes with a venomous strike from Antoine Honein. 

E-Sports held out to win the match 2-1, securing second place in the league table ahead of next week’s crunch match against league-leaders du LaLiga HPC.

In Ras Al Khaimah, Emirates Club met Kalba’s Legends in a high-energy match with Emirates Club’s captain Suhail Al Neaimi scoring the team’s first goal on the 19th minute. Twenty minutes into the second half Legends hit back with a goal, but Emirates Club scored again to win the match 2-1.

Focused on moving up in the league table, Al Ahli Club met Abu Dhabi Elite in Abu Dhabi. Tactical play and intricate passing allowed Eduardo Barbosa from Abu Dhabi Elite to weave through Al Ahli’s defense to hit the back of the net 2 minutes into the match.

Al Ahli Club fought back to tie the score in the first half, but Abu Dhabi Elite were determined to win and finished strong with a 3-2 score, which allowed them to climb to fourth place in the league table.

FCBEscola and EFF battled it out in Dubai with tensions high between the Spanish and French teams. It was EFF who took the lead early on and with a fantastic goal by Zayed Jawad at two minutes, and held the lead through to the end of the match with a clean 3-0 win earning them 5th place in the league table.

The most intense match of the day was played between Elite and PSG.  Determined to secure their first win of the season, PSG kicked off strong, fearlessly attacking the Elite defense who held their own. 

With passionate coaching from the sidelines from both teams, tensions where high, but neither team was able to find an opening past the other team’s line of defence, and the match ended in a goalless draw.

Next week, du UAE FAAL League leaders du LaLiga HPC and E-Sports meet in what promises to be the game of the week, with both teams sights set on first place in the League table.
