UAE Schools Cup Boys U14 Impress LaLiga Scouts in Second Week of Matches in Dubai at duFC
- 360 goals scored and 85 matches played in Day 2 in Dubai
- AIS in U16 and DESC in U14 top their groups
- Competition Heats up in the Girls Challenge
- Youth in the Streets Cup demonstrate fantastic individual talent
Dubai, UAE – February 20, 2017 – With the extension of the scouting platform to include the boys U14 category, a marked improvement has been witnessed in the performance of the young boys in this category. With the opportunity to be invited to train at the du LaLiga High Performance Centre at arm’s length players were showcasing their best at duFC, the only international youth scouting platform in partnership with LaLiga.
UAE Schools Cup
Last year’s runner up in the U16 category from The French School (LFIGP) led by Coach Fred were in great form as they took on Dubai National School Al Twar and ended the day top of their group, while last years winners the International School of Choueifat Dubai kept their lead with one week to go in the group stages while AIS topped their group with an incredible 28 goals scored after 3 matches.
Strong contenders from the U14 category include DESC who displayed great technical skills and speed, The French School (LFIGP) whose team work led to them topping their group and International School of Choueifat wo played as a solid unit to and finished strong with 17 goals from 2 matches.
UAE Streets Cup
Goal Diggers and Santos were the standout teams on the streets cup pitches. Both teams not only played with confidence and focus to finish every play with a shot on goal, but demonstrated great sportsmanship, the mark of true champions.
Girls Challenge
With this category open to both the Schools Cup and Streets Cup this year, the level of football was superb as school teams met academy teams to secure their spots in the national semi-finals. The girls from Go Pro Sports technical performance led them to win both matches of the day while Fushion FC stunned spectators with their fast pace, intelligent play and ability to finish with strong goals.
Top Talents
Man of the match-day was 14 year-old Fabio Rollano from DESC who supported his team directing all the play like a true pro-footballer.
Top scorer was 14 year-old striker Tarek Ahmed from Goal Diggers FC who scored a double hat-trick in one of his matches of the day.
LaLiga scouts were also impressed with Jay Baisley, Ahmad Malal, Barbod Mazloumian and Hussein Hawi.
Commenting on the skills of Dubai footballers, Michel Salgado, du Football Champions Director and LaLiga Global Ambassador said, “With a few spots left to fill with top talents, and the fantastic individual talents we are starting to see in Dubai I am certain we will in the near future see some of the players in professional clubs both nationally and internationally.”

It is national platform featuring the UAE Schools & Streets Cup and conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Education, KHDA, ADEC, Dubai Sports Council, Abu Sports Council and Sharjah Sports Council.
