The Jebel Ali Youth League finished on Saturday and GYS were there to speak to the winners of the under 9's and under 10's divisions.
Desert Rangers FC walked away as champions of both age groups, with the under 9's doing so without losing a game all season. Coach John was delighted with how his team played.
"I feel absolutely fantastic for the boys, they've worked very hard from early this season. They went through the whole season without losing a match and I'm very proud of them – they put in a fantastic effort all season so I feel very happy today."
Desert Rangers under 9's captain Ibra said: "I feel good and I'm happy because we won!"
A 4-0 win over DG Pro in their final game confirmed Desert Rangers under 10's as champions and coach Daniel praised his side's effort and commitment throughout the season.
"We worked hard all season and thanks to the boys we had a very good compeititon. Because of the organisers here everything is great."
Organiser Chris Brown was delighted with how the league has shaped up this year, focussing on the positive atmosphere that has been created at Jebel Ali.
"It's been very good from the outset to be honest so we've been really pleased with how it's gone. The environment we've tried to create has been fantastic for the players. It's a player-focussed league, it's not about results it's about the players and from that side of things we've been really happy."
