BSK Micro Machines Take on Obstacle Course

The British School of Kuwait (BSK) in conjunction with the British Academies and Evolve trading company hosted an obstacle race in Wembley Sports Arena on Saturday March 18 for children aged 7-12.

The Rascal Race is an extension of the school’s ethos of promoting health and wellbeing for its students. The British School of Kuwait is the first school in the Middle East to introduce CrossFit as a part of its Physical Education curriculum.

Crossfit is a programme that teaches functional movements to drastically improve people’s fitness in sport and in everyday life. Many schools around the world have now followed this model.

The event itself was a combination of 20 fun obstacles to challenge the children on each fitness component such as strength, agility, endurance, balance, and coordination.

The race was a big success with the attendance of close to 100 participants with many children coming from other schools in Kuwait. Parents were so excited that they joined the race too and next year will have their own event.

Very exciting new plans for the next ‘Rascal Race’ later on in the year have already got under way. Further details for the Crossfit kids, teens and adult programmes can be found out by emailing us at cfbsk@ evolveyouth.co
