Gulf Youth Sport covers school and youth sport across the Gulf. This page explains what personal information is involved in running this website and in our coverage, and how you can ask us to correct or remove something.

Who runs this site

Gulf Youth Sport (gulfyouthsport.com) is operated by GYS Travels LLC, Dubai, UAE. For anything to do with privacy, email info@gulfyouthsport.com.

Visiting the website

You can read everything on this site without signing up or giving us any details. We have no accounts, forms, advertising or analytics, and the site sets no cookies of its own.

  • Hosting. The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify's servers record technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure. These logs are kept by Netlify for a limited period and may be stored outside the UAE.
  • Fonts and images are served from this site itself, apart from the gallery covers described below.

Videos, galleries and links to other sites

  • YouTube. Videos are embedded using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play. Once you do, YouTube (Google) may set cookies and collect information about your viewing, as described in Google's privacy policy.
  • Photo gallery. The covers on our Photos page are loaded from our gallery on Zenfolio, so Zenfolio receives your IP address when that page loads. The gallery itself is on Zenfolio's site and is covered by Zenfolio's privacy policy.
  • Social media. Links to Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and other sites are ordinary links. Those sites only receive information about you if you follow the link.

When you email us

If you email us, we use your name, email address and message to reply and to deal with your request. Our email is provided by Google Workspace. We keep correspondence only as long as we need it, for example to show that a removal request was handled.

Young people in our coverage

Our articles, photos and videos report on school and youth sport, so they can include the names, photos, schools, ages and results of young people.

  • This information comes from schools, clubs and event organisers, and from our own coverage at events. We publish photos of young people where consent is confirmed through the school or organisation's photo consent list.
  • We do not publish home addresses, contact details or other private information about young people.
  • Our archive includes articles going back to 2016. If something in an older article about you or your child should no longer be online, please ask us to remove it.

Your rights and removal requests

You can ask us to show you, correct or remove personal information about you on this site. A parent or guardian can ask on behalf of a child, and schools can ask on behalf of their pupils.

Email info@gulfyouthsport.com with the address of the page and what you would like changed. See correction and removal requests for what to include and how quickly we respond.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your request, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
