GYS Flashback: Arcadia British School Crowns Inaugural BSME U11 Netball Tournament in Bahrain
In this edition of the GYS Archive Vault, we look back at a landmark moment for primary school sports in the region. Hosted by Nadeen School Bahrain, the inaugural edition of the BSME U11 Netball Tournament (2026) kicked off the competitive calendar in style, bringing together top primary netball teams from across the Middle East for a historic showcase of court speed, tactical passing, and clinical finishing.
When the final whistle blew on a thrilling day of competition, Arcadia British School (UAE) added another piece of major silverware to their growing netball dynasty, standing tall as the first-ever BSME U11 Netball Cup Champions.
The Cup Competition: Arcadia Claims Historic First Title
Arcadia British School put on a masterclass in tournament play throughout the knockout stages, combining sharp defensive turns with relentless transition speed to claim 1st Place in the Cup division.
Pushing them all the way to the wire was Repton Al Barsha (UAE), who delivered an outstanding tournament campaign to secure the Silver medal in 2nd Place. Reptonβs stellar run was highlighted by the exceptional individual performance of Ella, who was officially named Player of the Tournament for her dominant court presence.
Rounding out a complete UAE podium sweep in the elite tier, DESS Oud Metha (UAE) showcased incredible depth and composure to capture the 3rd Place Bronze medal.
The Bowl Competition: DESS United Takes Top Honors
The secondary bracket provided its own thrilling action, with a unique joint squad taking the spotlight. DESS United (a combined team from DESS Oud Metha & DESS Academic City) put on a clinical team performance to capture 1st Place in the Bowl Competition.
They held off a hard-charging Kings’ School Dubai 2 squad (2nd Place), while tournament hosts Nadeen School Bahrain earned a well-deserved 3rd Place podium finish on home soil.
