GYS PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: THE REIGN OF RAFA ALDEMITA

Beyond the Rankings: Why Rafa Aldemita is the undisputed King of Junior Tennis in the Gulf

In the world of competitive youth tennis, rankings often tell only half the story. For Alexi Luca Rafael “Rafa” Aldemita, the data is clear: he has spent the last year simply unchallenged on the local circuit.

The i.Cademy Middle East student and CF Tennis Academy star dominated the UAE Tennis Federation (UAETF) U14 rankings throughout 2025. He held the world-class No. 1 spot consistently until March 2026. Rafa only moved from the top spot because he transitioned away from U14 play—having effectively cleared the field in the Emirates.

Dominating the “Road to Mubadala”

Rafa’s 2025 season was defined by his victory at the Road to Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open Masters. Taking the U14 Championship at this prestigious event cemented his status as the premier junior in the UAE.

He followed this success by sweeping the 1st Dubai Sports Council Tennis Championships in June 2025. In a show of pure versatility, Rafa claimed both the U14 and U16 titles, proving he could beat older and more physical opponents with tactical precision.

Conquering the Asian Stage

Rafa has now shifted his focus to international territory. His rise through the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) rankings has been meteoric. On February 16, 2026, he achieved a career-high Asian ranking of No. 14 in the U14 category.

His international trophy cabinet is filling up fast:

  • December 2025 (Dubai): Double Champion (U14 & U16 Singles) at the ATF International Tournament.
  • December 2025 (Doha): U14 Doubles Champion at the ATF Tournament in Qatar.

The “Student-Athlete” Blueprint

Success at this level requires a unique environment. By schooling with i.Cademy Middle East, Rafa has the flexibility to travel to Doha, Abu Dhabi, and across Asia for elite competition. Supported by Head and his coaches at CF Tennis, he is now operating on a professional-grade schedule.

Rafa Aldemita is no longer just a “rising star” in Dubai. He is a top-tier contender on the Asian stage. As he continues to test himself against the best in the continent, the “Road to the Pros” looks shorter than ever.
