Gulf Schools Set Sail for The World School Swim Championships in London

It’s almost here! The World School Swim Championships 2023 are set to take place this weekend at the London Aquatic Centre!

Soon schools from around the globe will make the adventurous trek to historical England to make a splash in a variety of swimming events.

Certainly there will be no shortage of countries represented at the games, as over 30 schools from more than 10 different countries will be taking part in this weekend’s events.

Meanwhile six Gulf schools from the UAE and Saudi Arabia will proudly showcase their talents while in Great Britain.

Also, American International School Riyadh, from Saudi Arabia, will look to make a strong debut in Britain’s capital city. The school will be bringing 16 student-athletes on board to compete at the amazing London Aquatic Centre.

More Gulf schools will be attending this year are Jess Dubai, GEMS World Academy, and Safa Community School. Each previously mentioned school comes from the sunny UAE. Over 60 students will represent these schools over the course of the weekend.

Once again, GEMS WIS and Dubai American Academy are making the journey to the home of the London Olympics 2012.

Previously, GEMS WIS competed hard last year as they took part in U11–U15 swimming events. The Wildcats finished incredible well in the U13 overall category, finishing in second as a unit.

Furthermore, Dubai American Academy is coming to The World School Swim Championships with strong numbers in the girls division, bringing more than 30 eager youngsters wanting to show their talents to the rest of the globe.

The highly anticipated opening ceremony kicks off the swim festivities this Friday with a special guest. It’s then time on Saturday and Sunday for pupils to dip in the same pool Olympians from the London Olympics 2012 swam in.

We are proud to partner with The World School Games (WSG) Event Series for this year’s games.
