Schools Run Their Hearts Out at DASSA Cross Country

School runners from throughout Dubai visited The Sevens on Tuesday afternoon for the annual DASSA Cross Country relays, with some strong performances across board.

It was an incredibly productive day for Dubai College in Division 1 as they claimed victory in five of the six age categories, with wins in the Senior Boys and Girls, Year 9 & 10 Boys and Girls and Year 7 & 8 Boys. JESS secured first place in the Year 7 & 8 Girls race with a strong time of 15 mins 18 secs.

In Division 2 Jebel Ali School were crowned champions of the Senior Girls and Year 9 & 10 Boys and Girls categories with some impressive runs by their athletes.

It was a strong day for Dubai College.

Raffles International School took home the title of Senior Boys and Year 7 & 8 Girls winners recording 35 mins 12 secs and 18 mins 4 secs respectively while South View School were secured first place in Year 7 & 8 boys with a time of 15 mins 13 secs.

North London Collegiate School had a good day in Division 3, taking home three titles in the Year 9 & 10 Girls, Year 7 & 8 Boys and Year 7 & 8 Girls.

The spoils were shared across the other three age categories in the division with Dubai British School, Emirates Hill victorious in the Senior Boys race, Jumeirah College winners in Senior Girls and The English College recording a time of 14 mins 22 secs to win Year 9 & 10 Boys.


In Division 4 there was a mixed bag of results with Sunmarke School securing wins in the Senior Girls and Year 7 & 8 Girls races while GEMS International School, Al Khail dominated in the Year 7 & 8 age group with victories in the Boys and Girls races.

Hartland International School posted a time of 14 mins 32 secs to win the Senior Boys title and GEMS Metropole were winners in the Year 7 & 8 Boys race.
