School Fixtures Set to Return to Dubai

School sports fixtures are set to return to Dubai on Sunday after more than a year without scheduled matches due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Everyone has missed taking to the field, court or pool and proudly wearing school colours alongside their peers – thankfully next week that enjoyment will return for thousands of students across Dubai as DASSA fixtures make a long-awaited comeback.

Teachers have worked tirelessly in recent weeks and months to ensure new safety measures can be implemented to allow competitive sport to restart successfully.

Students have been training hard in new circumstances, with many putting in hours of dedicated work individually to ensure they were ready to go when school fixtures were given the green light.

Thankfully that day is nearly here and we can look forward to more normality throughout the school week going forward.

Netball and football will return for Dubai’s primary schools while football, basketball and rounders will kick off the first set of secondary school sports over the next five weeks.

Schools from across the Emirate will go head-to-head after more than 18 months without matches and at Gulf Youth Sport we would love to hear from you.

Are you a student looking forward to representing your school again? Are you a teacher excited to see your school teams back on the field or court? You can share your stories with us at info@gulfyouthsport.com to be in with a chance of featuring over the course of the rest of term.
