The 2019 Middle East youth sporting calendar gets into full flow this week with the visit of the highly anticipated U13 BSME Games to Dubai. Whilst 'the games' is always one of the highlights for young athletes, this particular edition of the games is set to break new ground.
A record twenty-one schools will take part in the event. As expected, there is a strong representation from the host nation UAE. However, there is an equally impressive number of schools making the trip to compete. There is strong representation from Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
Amongst the UAE schools are reigning champions BSAK. Having triumphed at this age group on home soil in 2017, they retained their title in Muscat last year and will be hoping to make it a hat-trick of victories. They will face the toughest challenge yet, with the following schools all looking looking to challenge for their crown:

The three day event is being hosted by Dubai Sports City, with Dubai British School, GEMS Wellington Academy and Kings Al Barsha also staging certain events to accommodate the record number of participants. The action gets underway on Thursday with athletics, followed by girls football and boys volleyball on Friday. Saturday's grand finalé consists of boys football and girls netball.
