The du LaLiga High Performance Centre (HPC) announced today that one of its players has been selected to join a leading football club in Lebanon and four other players have been selected for trials with international clubs and national teams.
The players that have been selected are among 72 youngsters between the age of 10-17 who have been handpicked to join the du LaLiga HPC through their participation in the nationwide du Football Champions competition or LaLiga Academy.
At the du LaLiga HPC, players undergo year-round intensive training at the hands of top UEFA certified La Liga Spanish coaches, with focus on developing the physical strength, technical skills, mental clarity and giving them in depth knowledge about football strategy that enables them to play intelligent football.
Speaking about the value of the program LaLiga HPC Head Coach and former Malaga Club Coach Rafa Gil said, “What we strive to do at the du LaLiga HPC is to strengthen the potential within each player that we scout.
"We are building individual players as well as a team both of which present their own challenges, but our focus is to create a pipeline of professional footballers for national and international teams and clubs, and the results speak for themselves,” he continued.
Following 12 months of intensive training at LaLiga HPC, Mohammed Awada was scouted by Lebanon’s Al Nejmeh Club. Speaking about his experience with du LaLiga, Awada said: “My year at the du LaLiga HPC made me believe that I could play internationally and sign a professional contract. Being at Al Nejmeh is incredible and I wouldn’t be here without the du LaLiga HPC.”
Mohammed Bouherrafa, who joined LaLiga HPC two years ago with a fierce determination to make it in the world of pro-football, is on a month-long trail with El Ejido with the hope of landing a contract award with the Spanish club.
Two other LaLiga HPC players, Aidan Pinto and Zayed Bin Waleed, have been selected from among 200 players for trials with the Indian National team following their short-listing by national scouts during the Indian National team scouting trip to Dubai.
Commenting on his pathway to pro-football, Waleed said: “Being selected for the LaLiga HPC team was a turning point for me. I had never undergone this level of training and I have seen a huge improvement in my football play over this last year. More importantly, du LaLiga HPC gave me the confidence to showcase my capabilities with the Indian National team.”
The du LaLiga HPC is committed to developing top football players across the UAE to international LaLiga standards, preparing them for pro-football careers.
