This may seem a bit weird to the students (and perhaps some of the teachers) that follow Gulf Youth Sport, but we could not wait for schools to go back after summer.
Why? Because it meant we could officially kick-off a new challenge that we are absolutely buzzing about!
It's called 'HANG TOUGH', and it's powered by our good friends, MEFIT PRO, who provide fitness solutions for gyms, universities and schools.
WHAT IS HANG TOUGH?
'Hang Tough' is a battle of brains and braun. Contestants hang onto a pull-up bar for as long as possible. Whilst they hang onto the bar, they will answer as many quick fire general knowledge questions as they can before their grip gives out and they slip off the bar.
WHO TAKES PART?
From each school, we need the following:
- 1 male student
- 1 female student
- 2 teachers
For each contestant, we will need:
- A 'walk-out' song, which will be played as each contestant enters the competition floor
- Bio – name, age, sports experience (if any)
RULES
Each contestant must hang onto a pull-up bar for as long as possible. Whilst they hang on, they will also attempt to answer as many questions as possible. Each correct answer earns the contestant two bonus seconds, which will be added to their time at the end of their attempt.
COMPETITION FORMAT
As well as the competition between the three contestants from your school, you'll also be competing against other schools across the UAE to see who will be crowned National Hang Tough Champions
