-On the 27th of August in 1985, Mary Jo Fernandez, an American former professional tennis player, was the youngest to ever win a US Tennis Open match at only 14 years old.
-On the 29th of August in 2012, Lance Armstrong, an American former professional road racing cyclist, was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles after he refused to deny charges of doping, drug trafficking, and adminstering of drugs to others.
-On the 30th of August in 1991, Mike Powell, an American former track and field athlete set the Long Jump World Record at 29' 4½" (8.95m).
-On September 1st in 1897, Michael Chang, a Chinese-American former professional tennis player was named the youngest winner at the US open, at only 15 years old.
