A team of netballers from Jumeirah Baccalaureatte School have defied the odds by claiming the DASSA Netball U14 D7 title in their very first year.
The team was put together by PE Teacher Leonie Riley just a few months ago, with the majority of the team having never played netball before.
Despite their lack of experience, the girls were undefeated in the league throughout the season, finishing with a record of 5 wins and 1 draw. To put the icing on the cake for JBS team captain, Amanda Reid, she was also voted player of the match more times than any other player by the opposing teams they faced, making her the school's MVP.
Adding to the impressiveness of their achievement is the fact that it is also the first year that the school has included netball in the PE curriculum, or as an after school club.
