Drogba to sign for Repton?
He may have already hung up his boots, and the January transfer window may have already closed in the English Premier League, but that didn't stop the rumours from circulating around the playground when former Chelsea star, Didier Drogba, dropped in to Repton School Dubai last week.
The Champions League winner, who scored an incredible 164 goals during his time at Stamford Bridge, jetted out to Dubai after watching his former team take a giant stride towards the Premier Laague title with an emphatic victory over london rivals Arsenal.
And instead of soaking up some Desert sun, the superstar took it upon himself to spend the morning meeting the students and teachers of Repton School.
Nic Leonard, PE Teacher at the school, described the meeting as 'surreal', and commended the ex-Ivory Coast Captain's attitude.
"He (Drogba) was really nice, and it was so refreshing to see such a big name take the time to talk to our students, who were very excited! It's an experience I'm sure they won't forget any time soon."
Also star-struck was Ali Wells, another member of the PE Department, who had his own agenda when he met the star:
"Our staff football team is in desperate need of a target man – I had a quiet word in Drogba's ear to see if he'd brought his shin pads with him. I explained that we wouldn't be able to offer him much in the way of wages, but the chance to pull on the shirt and feed off my scraps was an opportunity I had to present him with!"
