British School Dubai under 11’s came from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw with Nord Anglia International School on Thursday afternoon in an exciting end to end game.

Coach Mr Ashby was pleased with his side’s performance in which BSD scored a goal in each half: “I thought they were fantastic in the whole game. We went down 1-0 and came back to score a goal.

“We went down 2-1 in the second half and came back again and equalised. I felt we were on top at the end and could’ve won the game.”

Ashby believes his team’s style worked in their favour during the match and believes the height in his team is an attribute which they used well.

“There was some great passing. Our long ball style suited us quite well with our big lads up front. It’s definitely more Stoke City than Barcelona but it seems to work!”

On the benefits of school football, coach Ashby is very complimentary of the set up and feels that his players take a lot from their participation in the school games.

“It’s the teamwork and being able to play with their friends after school and really build up a great atmosphere at school. When we go bac to school tomorrow they’ll all be delighted and be able to tell everyone else how well they played.”
