Search On For Dubai’s Next Cricket Superstar

As part of the commitment to enhance grassroots cricket in the UAE the ICC Academy is on the hunt to find the best emerging young cricket talent in the region as it hosts the second open Scholarship trials.

Open to both boys and girls aged 13 – 19, youngsters will have the chance to impress on Saturday 12th May. Trials will be held for age group 13-15 years from 4-6 pm and for 16 -19 years from 7-9 pm. Registration will be open an hour before for each age group.

Those that catch the eye of the ICCA coaches will be rewarded with a full, one-year scholarship.  During the session budding young cricketers will be put through drills and skills assessments both in the nets and out on the field by ICCA coaching staff.

Each of the players selected from the trials will receive a full, one-year scholarship at the ICC Academy, which includes three training sessions a week at the academy based in Dubai Sports City, full access to its world-class facilities, including the Powerbase gym, and professional coaching and mentoring by highly trained ICCA staff.

Along with training the players will get opportunities to play in local tournaments in the UAE, as well as taking part in overseas tours and competing against the international teams that visit the ICC Academy.

In order to qualify for one of the scholarship places cricketers must be able to play hard ball cricket, be aged between 13 and 19 years old, hold a UAE residency visa and be dedicated to a full-time cricket programme.
