With the high standards of female football players participating in the UAE Girls Challenge this season, the international scouting platform in partnership with LaLiga, has been expanded to enable girls to be selected by LaLiga scouts to join the du LaLiga High Performance Centre and earn their chance to play professionally with the best clubs in the world and gain scholarships at top universities in the US, with two female duFC players having already won such scholarships last season.

Speaking about the calibre of youth female football talents in the UAE, Fernando Sanz, General Director of LaLiga in MENA, Head of International Projects and du Football Champions Director said :“At LaLiga, we fully support the development of female football talents and recognize the importance of creating the same opportunities for female athletes across the UAE. With the high level of girls’ football we are witnessing at duFC, we are very pleased to expand this platform to female footballers and to provide them with a clear pathway to a pro-football career.  We are confident that through this platform, we will nurture many future stars in female football, allowing them to train and develop at the highest international levels.”

Scouted duFC female talents will be invited to join the award-winning du LaLiga High Performance Centre, a by-invitation only world-class professional development center run by LaLiga professional coaches, delivering year-long intensive training and development programs which have created the world’s best players at LaLiga Clubs. The female players will receive the same training that has already enabled several young male players to be scouted to play with national teams as well as international and local clubs.

The UAE Girls Challenge is today the largest and highest standard tournament across the nation for female footballers, attracting the UAE National Team and top schools and academies.

The top eight teams in the UAE Girls Challenge along with those from the UAE Schools & Streets Cups from across the nation will be facing off on Saturday 14 April 2018 at the duFC semi-finals where they will meet to battle it out and earn their spots at the highly anticipated finals.

The du Football Champions is a nationwide initiative featuring the UAE’s official Schools Cup and Streets Cup and the only international youth football scouting platform.  Conducted in partnership with Ministry of Education, KHDA, ADEC, Dubai Sports Council, Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Sharjah Sports Council, it aims to achieve sustainable human development through the discovery of promising talents, who will raise the bar on sports excellence at local and national teams as they become the next generation of professional male and female footballers.
